About Shabbir Ahmed Khan

Meet Air Cdre. (R) Shabbir Ahmed Khan

Air Commodore (R) Shabbir Ahmed Khan is a retired Pakistan Air Force officer and one of Pakistan’s most respected humanitarian leaders.

After a distinguished military career, he dedicated his life to serving underserved communities by building large-scale welfare projects that provide education, healthcare, and long-term support.

His work is driven by a simple mission: create systems that help people stand on their own feet.

Building Complete Welfare Communities

His most impactful work can be seen in Rashidabad, near Tando Allahyar in Sindh.

What started as empty land has grown into a fully developed welfare community spread across more than 100 acres. It brings together schools, healthcare facilities, training centers, and orphan care under one system.

Thousands of families benefit from services that are not just charitable, but structured for long-term impact.

From Air Force Leadership to Public Service

Before his humanitarian work, Air Cdre. Shabbir served for over three decades in the Pakistan Air Force.

He flew combat missions during the 1965 and 1971 wars and later held senior leadership roles, including Commandant of the PAF Academy and Base Commander of PAF Base Faisal.

His leadership experience shaped the discipline and structure behind his welfare initiatives.

A Mission Shaped by Personal Loss

The foundation of his welfare work is deeply personal.

In 1997, his son, Flight Lieutenant Rashid Ahmed Khan, lost his life while steering a malfunctioning aircraft away from a populated area, saving countless civilians.

In his memory, Air Cdre. Shabbir established the Rashid Memorial Welfare Organization. What began as a tribute has grown into a lasting system of service, with similar projects now expanding into other regions of Pakistan.
